Overview

Strategic Management is concerned with the long-term direction and performance of an organisation. This Strategic Management course seeks to provide delegates with an in-depth understanding of principles and tools for strategic thinking. The course aims at deepening course attendees’ appreciation of the strategic management process and its importance and how strategic management can benefit an organisation. It interrogates key concepts, tools, and principles of strategy formulation and competitive analysis focusing on how these assist with managerial decisions and actions that shape the performance, survival and progress of an organisation.

Thus, the course focuses on the information, analyses, organizational processes, and skills that an organisation must use to devise strategies, position the organisation, define boundaries and maximize long-term benefits in the face of risk, uncertainty, change and competition. In principle, this Strategic Management Training explores an organisation’s vision, mission, principles, techniques and models of organisational and environmental analysis, discusses the theory and practice of strategy formulation and implementation such as corporate governance and business ethics for the development of effective strategic leadership. It draws on case studies to examine contemporary thinking in the field of strategy. In so doing, the course seeks to equip delegates with a practical understanding of the relevant concepts and frameworks needed to make better strategic decisions in the context of the dynamic and fast changing management environment.
