Procurement fraud manifests in various forms, and the procurement process presents a common risk area across almost all organisations, large or small. Unfortunately, no organisation is immune to corruption and fraud and these occur somewhere during the procurement cycle. Fraud and corruption in procurement are all too common, and research provides evidence of their increasing frequency with the corresponding quantum of losses becoming significant enough to impact on the sustainability of organisations.
